$500,000 ‘Extra’ win one of the top moments ever for Coquitlam man

Manuel Enes played it cool and didn’t get excited at his local grocery store when he found out he won the lottery. Enes won $500,000 saying ‘yes’ to the Extra in the July 22, 2016 Lotto Max draw.

As soon as he went home though, he couldn’t contain his excitement any longer.

“I told my wife I had won and then called my kids,” recalled Enes. “They knew right away something good happened because I was screeching in the background!”

He says it’s one of the biggest moments of his life.

“This is up there for sure. It’s right behind my kids and grandchildren being born.”

Enes plans to bank some of his winnings and share the rest with his family.

“This is a nice amount to win,” smiled Enes. “I like helping people and this allows me to help out my kids.”

The winning ticket was purchased at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Como Lake Avenue in Coquitlam.
