Today, BCLC has issued a non-binding Request for Pre-Qualification (RFPQ) on BC Bid to pre-qualify up to four vendors for provision of property development and contracting services, who will be eligible to submit a proposal for a potential new purpose-built Kamloops Head Office building.

BCLC’s current head office is over 50 years old and the significant costs associated with renovation and maintenance of its current head office have required BCLC to examine the condition of its whole facility and consider a long-term solution.

BCLC has been working with Avison Young, a commercial real estate advisor, to explore all options for the most appropriate building solution. In order to make the right decision for its future and maximize its investment, BCLC intends on developing a concept plan and detailed business case analysis of options and financial implications to renew BCLC’s head office, including consideration of means to utilize appropriate space in part of, or all of a new building; or recondition the 50-year-old existing building.

BCLC has enjoyed 31 years of success in Kamloops and looks forward to many more in the downtown core. Ultimately, BCLC wants to create an open, flexible, accessible, environmentally friendly space that will serve its employees, customers and community well into the future.

More information about the RFPQ can be found on BC Bid here. The RFPQ will close on May 9, 2017.
