BCLC’s GameSense adopted by Connecticut Lottery Corporation

02/02/2016

The Connecticut Lottery Corporation has entered into an agreement with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) for the right to use “GameSense,” BCLC’s proprietary, award-winning responsible gaming education program, joining several other jurisdictions who are embracing the internationally recognized brand.

The announcement was celebrated at the launch of the New Horizons in Responsible Gambling conference, taking place February 2 - 3 at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

GameSense uses a fun and positive approach to give players factual information they need to play responsibly, make informed choices and connect with resources should they need help. In addition to Connecticut, the program has been implemented by Massachusetts casinos and gaming jurisdictions in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

In B.C., every casino has a GameSense Information Centre staffed by GameSense Advisors who are funded by the province’s Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch. GameSense Advisors discuss gambling odds, dispel common myths and share information on resources. They also support the enrolment process for BCLC’s Voluntary Self-Exclusion program, and referral to the Province’s free problem gambling counselling services.

GameSense resources are also available at lottery retailers, on PlayNow.com and at GameSense.ca.

About BCLC:
BCLC is a provincial Crown corporation offering socially responsible gambling entertainment while generating more than $1.2 billion in net income each year to benefit provincial and community programs across B.C.

About CT Lottery Corporation:
