Christmas gift has Maple Ridge resident Set For Life

Marlene Evans is $675,000 richer after winning the top prize for Set For Life over the holiday season after receiving the ticket from her niece as a Christmas present.

“I have been playing Scratch & Win tickets for years so everyone in my family knows exactly what to get me for Christmas every year,” explained Evans.

The Maple Ridge resident waited until Christmas morning to scratch all of the tickets she received as presents.

“The Set For Life ticket was the first one I scratched and I won the top prize on the very first line of the ticket,” smiled Evans. “I held the ticket and stared at it before calling my husband over to check it out!”

Evans has shared the exciting news with her family and the first person she called was her niece.

A new rancher style home in Maple Ridge is on Evans’ wish list and that dream is now within reach after winning Set For Life.

The winning ticket was purchased at Orchard Park Shopping Centre in Kelowna.

Every time a lottery ticket is purchased in B.C., it funds programs across the province. Learn more here.
