Curling Fever Sweeps BCLC

28/02/2014

Team Canada’s success at the Winter Olympics Games in Sochi left Canadians across the nation united in awe and bursting with pride. But the time has come to separate back into our provincial alliances and hit the ice once again competing to take home the Brier Tankard at the 2014 Tim Hortons Brier Championship.

The excitement began in our Kamloops office earlier this month when Jim Cotter along with the coveted Tankard visited and spoke to staff about the excitement of being named to team BC. (image)

The Brier takes place in Kamloops March 1-9 at the Interior Savings Centre. Twelve teams, representing each of the ten provinces, plus the Yukon/NWT and Northern Ontario, will compete in a round robin before moving into the play-off round which determines who will play for the championship.

BCLC is an enthusiastic and proud community partner of the Brier. We have 15 BCLC Brier volunteers donating their time during the tournament to make the Brier a memorable experience for athletes, fans, visitors and locals. Each day of the Brier we’ll post the tales of one of our volunteers here on our news page, so you’ll get the stories as they happen, from those in the action.

We look forward to sharing our BCLC Brier experience with all of our players. Please join us as we cheer on team BC!
