‘Extra’ winner from Vancouver froze after winning $500,000

Kavoos Ostadmohammad didn’t know how to react when he discovered he won $500,000 playing the Extra in the June 18, 2016 Lotto 6/49 Draw.

“I didn’t know what to do so I just froze,” laughed Ostadmohammad. “I didn’t yell or scream. My face was just frozen. I probably looked really weird.”

After the initial shock faded, Ostadmohammad couldn’t wait to share his good news!

“I called my mom right away,” smiled Ostadmohammad. “After the call I wanted to tell everyone I saw on the street – even complete strangers!”

Ostadmohammad plans to celebrate with a nice dinner, and a purchase that is quintessentially Vancouver.

“I want to buy a new bicycle to ride around downtown and the seawall!”

The winning ticket was purchased at the 7-ELEVEN on Robson and Hamilton in Vancouver.
