Free coffee and a $500,000 lottery win for North Van resident

For being a regular customer at McGill Stationery in North Vancouver, Paul Sall earned himself a free coffee on the morning he went in to check his lottery tickets. Coffee in-hand and already feeling like a winner, Sall put his ticket into the Check-a-Ticket lottery terminal and discovered he had won $500,011.

Sall had purchased a ticket for the April 26, 2014 Lotto 6/49 draw and as always, said ‘yes’ to the Extra. He chooses numbers based on special family events and birthdays.

“I plan to surprise my wife with the big cheque,” he explains. “I’m usually a pretty calm guy so my wife will be the one to get very excited about the win.”

After a celebratory dinner with family, Sall will spend some of the prize money on his daughters’ educations, buy himself a new truck and invest the rest.

“I’m getting close to retirement so this will help with financial planning,” he says with a smile.

Say ‘Yes’ to the Extra for the chance to win up to $500,000. Extra is available with Lotto 6/49, Lotto Max and BC/49 at any BCLC lottery retailer or at
