It was a happy birthday for Surrey man after Set for Life win

Jeffrey Dalziel is $675,000 richer after receiving a winning Set for Life ticket for his birthday.

Dalziel thought the celebrations were over when he scratched the ticket his wife gave him as a present. He was wrong!

“It was around 9:30 when I scratched my winning ticket. I was shocked so I handed the ticket to my wife. She was happy but also shocked!” said Dalziel.

Dalziel admits this birthday will be almost impossible to top next year.

“It’s an experience I’ll never forget. It was the best birthday ever,” laughed Dalziel.

Dalziel plans to use the money to pay off his mortgage, buy new furniture and some new toys for his children.

“We were out furniture shopping on my birthday before I scratched the Set for Life ticket. We might get something better now. We’ll also now be able to get a trampoline for the kids,” exclaimed Dalziel.

Every time a Scratch & Win ticket is purchased in B.C., it funds programs across the province

Set for Life is the Scratch & Win game that offers players the chance to win a top prize of $1,000 a week for 25 years.
