Kamloops Lotto 6/49 Winner Fulfills Dreams05/09/2018
A cruise and some cuddles from puppies are on the mind of B.C.’s latest Lotto 6/49 winner. Kamloops’ Sherry Edwards won the $1 Million Guaranteed Prize on the September 1, 2018 Lotto 6/49 draw.
Edwards learned of her win while at home sitting in her rocking chair and sipping tea. “I checked the numbers three times online before realizing I had won,” she said. After self-checking the numbers at the Husky station where she had bought her ticket, Edwards immediately called her son to share the good news. “He didn’t believe me, until I sent him a picture,” she laughed. “We were so excited!”
Edwards is looking forward to fulfilling some of her dreams and helping care for those she loves most. “I feel blessed and so incredibly grateful. I can set up an education fund for my grandchildren and I’ve always dreamed of adopting more dogs in need of a good home,” she said.
To celebrate her win Edwards is planning on purchasing a new truck and going on a cruise to Alaska with her girlfriend. “I wasn’t sure if I could afford to go a week ago, but now I know I can make it happen,” she smiled.
The Husky on Columbia Street in Kamloops sold the winning ticket.
