Largest Scratch & Win prize in B.C. history won in Squamish22/05/2014
A quick trip to the gas station turned into a life-changing event for Surrey resident Munpreet Singh Gill after he bought a $200 Million Supreme Scratch & Win.
Gill won the $2 million top prize after matching all three symbols on the Scratch & Win.
“I scratched the ticket and thought to myself that there must be a mistake,” described Gill. “I went to the self-checker to confirm the win and I was in total shock. This is going to change my life.”
Gill plans to put his winnings in the bank until he finishes his post-secondary education but did say that he might treat himself to something small, “or maybe a new Camaro.”
The winning ticket was purchased at the Petro Canada gas station on Government Road in Squamish where Gill was working that day with his Dad.
“I called my girlfriend first and then my brother and they were both very excited,” laughed Gill. “When I told my Dad he refused to believe me. I had to take him down to the gas station to check the ticket together.”
The $200 Million Supreme ticket has the largest ever prize pool any Scratch & Win. Overall odds to win a prize on the $200 Million Supreme are 1:3. Odds of winning $2 million are 1:1,220,000.
