Lottery retailers to ID players who look 25 and younger

We ID 25 – take it as a compliment. Effective August 2, 2016, lottery retailers across B.C. will be required to check one form of government issued photo ID of any customer purchasing lottery products who appears 25 years of age and younger.

The sale of lottery tickets to anyone under 19 years of age (a minor) is prohibited by law. BCLC’s new policy, ID 25, increases the mandated level of due diligence retailers must perform in ensuring that lottery products are not sold to minors.
