Lotto 6/49 winner ready to start living the good life.18/02/2015
Long time lotto man, Terry Grove has been playing 6/49 since the day it started, and on February 17th his dreams came true as his regular numbers won big.
While shopping with his wife at Save-on-Foods, Grove checked his ticket from the February 14, 2015 draw. “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” Grove recalls. “I had to check it like 5 or 6 times. I was counting the zeros and trying to process what was going on.
After checking the ticket a few more times with his wife and with someone from BCLC, Grove called his son to deliver the news. “He didn’t believe us at first, but then it started to sink in after a while.” he retells.
Grove will be treating his family to a nice warm cruise to Hawaii in April, but not before he buys himself a new Audi Q5. Also on the list, Grove plans to pay off their new townhouse in Chilliwack, where they recently retired to.
“My wife and I are feeling a whole bunch of emotions. We have cried, we have laughed.” Grove exclaims. “We can’t wait to start travelling and enjoying each other’s company.”
With their 35th anniversary coming up in May, the $1 million Grove won on the Guaranteed Prize Draw is sure to make for a good celebration.
The winning ticket was purchased at Save-on-Foods on Promontory Road in Chilliwack.
A major win from the March 14, 2014 Lotto Max draw has yet to be claimed; a $50 million ticket sold in Langley, B.C. remains unclaimed and ties the largest prize ever won in B.C.
Lotto 6/49 is a nationwide lottery game drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays after 6 p.m. (PT). Players can purchase tickets at their favourite lottery retailer or at PlayNow.com.
