New Year, new dreams with $100 million in Lotto Max prizes

Lottery players in B.C. could kick off the New Year in style with an estimated $100 million in prizes available on the January 6, 2017 Lotto Max draw. That includes an estimated $60 million jackpot plus 40 MAXMILLION prizes of $1 million each.

It’s anticipated that 40 percent of all lottery sales will take place on Friday afternoon with the biggest peaks during the lunch hour, when lottery retailers in B.C. are expected to process up to 4500 transactions per minute.

LOTTO MAX FACTS:

  • Lotto Max launched on September 19, 2009.
  •  There have been three $50 million Lotto Max jackpots won in B.C.
  • Odds of winning a jackpot or $1 million MAXMILLION prize: 1:28,633,528
  • MAXMILLION winners in B.C. to date: 103

RECENT WINNERS:

Christmas came early for Barriere resident Kelvin Fadear who won $1 million on Christmas Eve on the Lotto 6/49 draw. On the same draw, a group of 15 co-workers from Delta also won $1 million. Another $1 million winning ticket was won on New Year’s Eve for the December 30, 2016 Lotto Max draw. The ticket was sold in the Kamloops area and the winner has a year to come forward and claim their prize.
