Newlywed Langley resident is Set for Life

Newlywed and soon-to-be-father, Justin Zimmerman of Langley, will have one more reason to celebrate after he discovered his Scratch & Win ticket would set him and his new family up for life.

Justin purchased a Set for Life ticket around Christmas time, in which he won a free play, and that ticket turned into another free ticket, until finally he scratched the winning jackpot. After seeing the three “25 Years,” symbols, Justin immediately ran back into the store to have it validated before throwing his hands up in celebration.

“I kept trying to call my wife to tell her the good news, but she was still sleeping,” recalls Justin. “So I gave up, rushed home and woke her up. When I finally told her I had won, she just kept staring at me like I was crazy. She didn’t believe me.”

Justin and his wife have only been married for five months are expecting their first child in August. Justin chose to take the annuity payments of $1,000 a week for 25 years. “It has consistent long term security,” he smiled.

Justin plans to spend his prize money on a fishing trip, his new baby, and house hunting in the near future.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Chevron at 200th and Fraser Highway in Langley.
