Port Coquitlam resident is Set for Life

Frances Olson had a feeling that one day she would win the lottery and it turns out she was right! This week Olson purchased a Set for Life Scratch & Win ticket and won the top prize of $675,000.

“I scratched the ticket at the mall and I couldn’t believe my eyes! What a surprise,” exclaimed Olson. “I had to turn to my son and ask if I was seeing things!”

The Port Coquitlam resident says winning the top Set for Life prize will allow her to retire for a second time, which is an exciting milestone.

“I can’t explain how much this win means to me,” said Olson. “I grew up without a lot of money so I tend to appreciate everything I have – this win is a great blessing.”

Olson says she has been dreaming about a new car for months and can now afford to buy one. She is also planning a trip next year with her husband to Las Vegas. The car shopping and trip planning will take place after Olson celebrates the win over a nice dinner with her family.

The winning Set for Life 15th Anniversary ticket was purchased at Sheffield & Sons in Coquitlam.

Set for Life is the Scratch & Win game that offers players the chance to win a top prize of $1,000 a week for 25 years.

BCLC contributed $1.25 billion in net revenue to the government of B.C. in 2014/15. See how the City of Coquitlam has benefitted from provincial gaming in the below video.
