Richmond couple is $1 million richer07/08/2015
Gordon and Helen Cronin have been playing the lottery for as long as they can remember because Gordon always had a funny feeling that one day they would hit the jackpot. Their dream has become a reality after winning the Guaranteed $1 Million Prize in the August 5, 2015 Lotto 6/49 draw.
Gordon says he couldn’t believe his eyes when he checked the winning ticket first thing in the morning.
“I was so shocked and I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, explained Gordon. “I had to check the ticket multiple times to try and confirm the win.”
Helen says she was often skeptical about Gordon’s vision of winning big.
“I was never a believer until now. In fact, I always gave Gordon heck for buying lottery tickets,” admitted Helen. “But I believe everything happens for a reason and this was meant to happen. We feel great!”
The Richmond based couple hasn’t decided how they will spend their winnings quite yet but say they want to invest a large portion of the money and save for the future.
“We want to let the win sink in before we decide how to spend the money,” said Gordon. “We are thinking about planning a holiday somewhere exciting and exotic.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Safeway in Burnaby.
