William Graham won $675,000 playing Set For Life

Scratch & Win birthday gift exceeds expectations

William Graham of Prince George was happy when the Set for Life lottery ticket his daughter gave him for his birthday won a Free Play. Now he’s over the moon after the second ticket proved to be a big winner and Graham is now $675,000 richer!

“I remember scratching the ticket as soon as I got it and seeing three matching Set for Life symbols,” Graham recalls. “I was so excited and jumped up to show my wife who couldn’t believe her eyes.”

Graham called his son, who took him to Shoppers Drug Mart and then Treasure Cove Casino to confirm the win. “I knew it was real when the screen on the check-a-ticket indicated I call BCLC,” smiled Graham. “I made travel arrangements that night to go collect my prize.”

The Free Play winning ticket was redeemed at Spruce Land Shoppers Drug Mart.

Graham usually plays $10 Crossword Scratch & Win tickets, and admits the Set for Life gift was a step out of the ordinary. “I plan to keep playing my Crosswords,” he says. “I’m still hoping to get lucky on one of those!”

After weighing his options, Graham chose to take the lump sum of $675,000. The 84 year old retiree plans to share his winnings with his four children and treat himself to a new truck.

The Set for Life Scratch & Win game offers players the chance to win a top prize of $1,000 a week for 25 years or $675,000.
