Tears of joy for Vanderhoof $1 million Lotto 6/49 winner05/03/2015
Friends, Deanna Kyncl and Sahel Sobhani, could not believe their eyes when they saw a seven-figure prize pop up on the lottery terminal screen. They had won the $1,000,000 Guaranteed Prize on the February 7, 2015 Lotto 6/49 draw.
Both began to cry in celebration immediately after seeing the win and needed to have the store clerk confirm the Lotto 6/49 win.
The two friends realized this would change their life. They are business partners and co-owners of the Cozy Corner Pizzeria in downtown Vanderhoof, B.C.
“This win will smooth the road of life for us,” described Kyncl. “A prize this large removes any financial worry and gives one a chance to breathe.”
The winning ticket was purchased at the Independent Extra Foods Gas Bar off Highway 16 in Vanderhoof, B.C.
The pair plan to finish building a new restaurant they’ve been working on for several years, but they have some other business to take care of first.
“My car has over four hundred thousand kilometres and one of my tires fell off last week. Perhaps a new car is in my future?!” described Sobhani.
It wasn’t until after the two had driven away from the gas station after checking the ticket that they realized the tank was still on empty; they had forgotten to fill up the tank.
Lotto 6/49 is a nationwide lottery game drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays after 6 p.m. (PT). Each draw includes a Guaranteed Prize Draw of $1 million. Players can purchase tickets at any lottery retailer or at PlayNow.com.
