$1 million win still sinking in for Westbank man

Werner Weiss was ecstatic when he thought he won $10,000. Then he counted the zeroes again and realized he won a whopping $1 million Maxmillions prize on the January 27, 2017 Lotto Max draw.

“I had to count the zeros a few times to believe my eyes,” exclaimed Weiss. “Even now it has to sink in a bit!”

Weiss says he’ll start making plans for his winnings as it starts to feel more real.

“This win means a lot,” smiled Weiss. “I think I’ll put some money towards my retirement and help people when I can.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Sheffield’s Express in the Orchard Park Shopping Centre in Kelowna.
