$12.8 million Lotto 6/49 winner to travel the globe and live life to the fullest21/06/2016
Ian Hirsch of Coquitlam didn’t just double check his ticket, he triple checked it to make sure he won a whopping $12.8 million on the June 18, 2016 Lotto 6/49 draw.
“I checked it online first and then had my wife recheck it. We couldn’t believe our eyes so we walked over to the store to check it again,” beamed Hirsch. “It was overwhelming and surreal. I was shaking a lot!”
Hirsch already has a dream list that includes trips to Europe and Hawaii, buying a car and helping out his kids. However, at the very top of that list is a new house with a state of the art man cave.
“I want to buy a gigantic TV, and build a beautiful house around that TV,” laughed Hirsch.
One thing Hirsch says he will never forget is telling his family he won the lottery and seeing them ‘go crazy’.
“We Facetimed with our kids to share the news because we wanted to see their reactions,” recalled Hirsch. “And that was priceless.”
The winning ticket was purchased at the Shoppers Drug Mart on David Avenue in Coquitlam. This marks the second big win out of Coquitlam this month. A $1 Million Lotto Max ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven on David Avenue for the June 10 draw.
