$500,000 winner from Mara to spend ‘Extra’ time with family

As a rule of thumb Teresa Johnson always says ‘yes’ to the Extra when she plays Lotto Max. That rule paid off to the tune of $500,000 when she won the Extra in the April 1st, 2016 draw.

“It was quite surreal when I found out,” smiled Johnson. “I started yelling and almost dropped to my knees!”

Johnson says the win is one of the most significant moments of her life.

“Right behind marrying my husband, and the birth of my kids and grandkids,” laughed Johnson.

She plans to use some of the money for her retirement, and will start taking life a little easier.

“Now I can work for pleasure and spend more time with my family,” exclaimed Johnson.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Parkridge Pharmacy & Health Centre in Enderby.

Every time a lottery ticket is purchased in B.C., it funds programs across the province. Learn more here.
