Burnaby BC/49 Winner’s Dream Becomes a New Life-Changing Reality

30/01/2018

Scott Russell of Burnaby is still in a state of shock after winning $1 million on the December 2, 2017 BC/49 draw.

“I like to play the same numbers each time and dream about the possibilities if I won,” Russell said. “But, now that I have won, I don’t even know where to begin – it’s still so surreal.”

Russell will consider buying a new car and traveling, but most of all looks forward to sharing his winnings with family and donating to charity.

“This is a life-changing amount of money and I will think about my options before any big decisions,” he said.

Russell purchased his winning ticket at the Walmart Supercenter in Burnaby located in Lougheed Town Centre.

BC/49 is a B.C.-only lottery game drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays that gives players a chance to win up to $2 million. BC/49 costs just $1 per selection and tickets are available at a BCLC lottery retailer or on PlayNow.com. Players can now check their lottery tickets anytime, anywhere on iOS and Android devices.

BCLC offers socially responsible gambling entertainment while generating income to benefit all British Columbians. Each year, revenue from gambling contributes more than $1 billion to fund important provincial, municipal and charitable programs across B.C. Play for fun, not to make money.
