Burnaby Lotto Max winner to share the wealth

Linda Spruston is Burnaby’s newest millionaire after winning a $1 million Maxmillion prize in the August 12, 2016 Lotto Max draw.

Spruston says winning the lottery has been an unbelievable experience.

“It’s a wonderful feeling,” exclaimed Spruston. “There are times I’m on the SkyTrain, and I just want to grab somebody and tell them I’m a lottery winner!”

Spruston says this win was really one for her whole family because she plans on sharing the wealth.

“My husband and I don’t have anything we want or need,” smiled Spruston. “Most of this money will go to my six children and my two sisters to make their lives easier.”

Spruston plans to use the remainder of the money to pay off her mortgage and she also wants to make a donation to charity.

“I will give a generous amount to Children’s Hospital because one of my daughters received a lot of help and support at the hospital.”

The winning ticket was purchased at the lottery kiosk at Lougheed Mall in Burnaby.
