Burnaby winner is making sure his mom is ‘Set for Life’

Ryan Kinnear of Burnaby is going to set his mom up for life after winning $675,000 playing Set for Life.

Kinnear was at the gas station intending to fill up his car, and decided to scratch his Set for Life ticket first. He discovered he had won and drove off to share the news – forgetting all about the gas.

“I was shaking when I discovered I had won. I thought it was a dream!” recalled Kinnear. “My mom has health issues and this means I can take care of her and give her whatever she wants.”

Kinnear also plans to celebrate with a nice meal out with friends, and possibly a vacation.

The winning Set for Life ticket was purchased at the Esso Station 7-Eleven on North Road in Burnaby.

Every time a Scratch & Win ticket is purchased in B.C., it funds programs across the province. Learn more here. BCLC offers socially responsible gambling entertainment while generating income to benefit all British Columbians. Remember, play for fun, not to make money. For more information visit
