Coquitlam couple to help family with Lotto Max win

Dennis Howlett was happy to see a Maxmillion winner from B.C. when he was checking the results for the June 10, 2016 Lotto Max Draw - he just didn’t think it would be him.

“So I was checking the numbers in the paper,” recalled Howlett. “I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me and I just couldn’t believe it when I discovered I was holding a winning ticket!”

Howlett shares the $1 million prize with his wife, Janice. The couple managed to keep their win a secret and had special plans to share the news over a family dinner.

“Keeping our win a secret has been so challenging,” admitted Janice. “But it will be that much more exciting when we share the big news.”

For Janice and Dennis, the decision about how they would spend their winnings was an easy one.

“We are going to help out our daughters,” exclaimed Dennis. “It means the world to us to be able to help them out!”

The winning ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven in Coquitlam on David Avenue.
