Kamloops woman’s birthday wish comes true after Set for Life win

It’s safe to say Melody Manuel’s husband knocked her birthday out of the park by gifting her a winning Set for Life ticket

“I was shocked when I saw I won,” exclaimed Manuel. “There was a real sense of excitement, and it’s definitely one of the best birthday presents ever!”

Manuel will receive an annuity prize of $1,000 a week for the next 25 years and the Kamloops resident is looking forward to living a more carefree lifestyle with her winnings.

“It’s good knowing there’s always going to be steady income coming in,” smiled Manuel. “It ultimately means I can enjoy life more.”

It also means Manuel can pay off some debt and go on a shopping spree.

“I still have to prioritize what to buy first,” laughed Manuel. “My dream list includes: a house, maybe a new vehicle, and a nice vacation!”

The winning Set for Life ticket was purchased at Paul Lake Husky in Kamloops.

Set for Life is the Scratch & Win game that offers players the chance to win a top prize of $1,000 a week for 25 years.
