Nanaimo woman has 500,000 “Extra” reasons to scream for ice cream

From now on, Elaine Rogers of Nanaimo will check her ticket first before buying ice cream!

Rogers was at the store for a frozen treat when she decided to check her lottery ticket, and quickly discovered she had won the $500,000 Extra on the August 24, 2017 Daily Grand draw.

“I just couldn’t believe it,” grinned Rogers as she recalled her story. “I stood there in shock as my ice cream melted down my hands. It took two clerks to convince me I had won.”

This was the first time Rogers had played Daily Grand, and she plans to celebrate her win shopping with friends and having dinner with family - complete with all the ice cream her heart desires!

The winning Daily Grand ticket was purchased at Country Club lottery ticket center in Nanaimo.

For a limited time, Daily Grand is offering players a chance to go on a shopping spree, just like Rogers. B.C. residents 19 years+ have the opportunity to experience “Living Grand” with its $50,000 Daily Grand Shopping Spree contest. From September 5th to October 1st, B.C. residents can enter the contest through for the chance to win a $50,000 shopping spree at Metropolis at Metrotown.
