Gregory May holding big cheque

Port Coquitlam Winner Is ‘Extra’ Happy

25/06/2018

Thanks to a ticket purchased on a whim, Gregory May from Port Coquitlam is $500,000 richer. May occasionally buys tickets when the jackpot is high but has never won anything this big. To his surprise, May’s ticket matched all four numbers from the Extra to win $500,000 on the June 8, 2018 Lotto Max draw.

“When I scanned my ticket and saw all the numbers come up and I immediately ran out of the gas station and back to my truck to tell my fiancé the news,” said May. “All I could say was ‘I think we won half a million dollars!’”

May was right indeed. The couple are still digesting the news and processing the shock but have celebrated with champagne.

“I plan to buy a new laptop for my daughter then invest the rest for the future,” said May.

Westwood Mixer and Smoke Shop located in Port Coquitlam sold the winning ticket.
