B.C.’s newest millionaires, Jesse Logan and Teresa Winters Day, both from Nanaimo, said they were “ecstatic” and both “almost fainted” upon realizing they had won $5 million after matching all six numbers in the August 21, 2019 Lotto 6/49 draw.
The pair, who purchased a Mini Dip ticket pack at their local 7-Eleven store in Nanaimo, were at home when they checked the BCLC Lotto! app and realized they’d won. They just recently started playing Lotto 6/49 together and are still processing what to do with their unexpected jackpot.
“I will be able to spoil my kids,” Winters Day said. “I’ve always wanted to go to Disneyland…that’s the first thing I’ll do with my kids, and then go on a shopping spree.”
Logan has always dreamed of taking his passion for music recording to the next level by building a recording studio, but not before gifting some of his winnings to his family.
“I will be able to help my family out and that is something I have always wanted to do,” he said. “We didn’t have much growing up but my parents did the best they could. I am excited to give back to them.”
