When Vancouver’s David Milligan scanned the barcode on his Set for Life ticket using the BCLC Lotto! App, he had to do a double take after seeing the winning message pop-up that he’d won $675,000.

“I was at home and thought, ‘what’s that?’ But then when I scratched the (actual) ticket, I realized I’d won and immediately started weighing my options — lump sum or annuity,” Milligan recalled with excitement.

Milligan took the morning off work to visit BCLC’s Vancouver office to claim his prize, but says he has no plans to take more time off anytime soon.

“I’m excited and happy – it will give me more financial freedom and make life a little easier.”

Milligan, who purchased his winning ticket at the 7-Eleven store on Oak Street in Vancouver, has been playing Set for Life twice a month since the game began, and plans to buy an investment property on Vancouver Island and pay off debt with his $675,000 win.
