Surrey’s Attila Kelemen Putting Family First After $500,000 Daily Grand Win

Attila Kelemen has plans to spoil his family after winning $500,000 in the Daily Grand draw held on July 8, 2019.

Kelemen matched five numbers to win the secondary prize of $25,000 a year for life and opted to take the lump sum payment of $500,000.

Originally from Hungary, Keleman has lived in British Columbia for 45 years and says it feels good to haul in the half million dollar prize.

“I was at home when I found out that I won, I was going to work and checked my ticket on the phone,” said Keleman. “The first person I told was my son. He said ‘Oh Dad, that is great’, and hugged me.”

The proud father claims he doesn’t get excited easily but admits being able to invest his winnings in his family’s future and have some fun puts some pep in his step.

“I plan to give a lot of the money to my kids, and take them on trips when they are older. My kids are the only thing that is important to me.”
