Nanaimo’s Maria Edmond is $500,000 richer after only playing Lotto Max for a few months.
After splitting the $1-million Maxmillions prize in the Lotto Max draw on June 15, 2021 with a ticket purchased in Ontario, chances are she has no plans to stop playing anytime soon.
“I’ve always bought Lotto 6/49, and then about three to four months ago I decided to try Lotto Max,” says Edmond. “The first ticket I bought I had won $40, and then won another $40 again after that.”
The retiree purchased her winning ticket at Nanaimo North Town Centre and won on a Quick Pick. She says the first thing on her bucket list is buying a new truck for her husband.
“His truck is 22 years old,” says Edmond. “A new truck was always in the conversation, and we’ll probably purchase a new RV to go camping as well. But [this win] won’t change my life much though, and it’ll give me peace of mind.”
So far in 2021, B.C. lottery players have redeemed more than $84 million in winnings from Lotto Max. Anyone can win and #YouCouldBeNext. Watch some amazing lottery winner stories at www.playnow.com/lottery/winners/you-could-be-next.
