No Bad Hair Days Here: Vancouver Man Picks up $675K Set for Life Ticket While Out for a Haircut

August 05, 2021

Vancouver winner

Fredro Tobias went out for a haircut and decided to pick up a Scratch & Win ticket on a whim. To his surprise, he returned home with a fresh new hairdo and a Set for Life ticket that netted him $675,000.

“Usually I buy Lotto 6/49 but this time I thought ‘Heck, why not buy a Set for Life today’” Tobias recalled.

The Vancouver resident purchased the ticket from Jong Wah Confectionery on East Pender Street and was at home the next day when he decided to scratch it.

“I looked at it about 20 times… I couldn’t believe it.”

Tobias shared the news with his good friend and they celebrated his win over a steak dinner at a waterfront restaurant. “He congratulated me and wished me luck while we took in the view.”

Tobias has a few plans for his prize, including possibly purchasing a cabin and taking off on a camping trip. He also plans to visit family across the country.

“It’s almost like a dream… you are walking around in the clouds. You keep asking yourself, ‘did I really win that much?’”
