Port Coquitlam Winner

Since winning a cool $1-million Maxmillions prize from the June 15, 2021 Lotto Max draw, Chee Yee Fong says he’s been dreaming about stepping-up his tango game.

“This win means that I will be able to get more tango lessons and a good instructor,” the Port Coquitlam resident said. “I am…going to invest in my health.”

Fong picked up his winning ticket in Vancouver at Wayne’s Grocery and checked it a gas station close to home during one of his daily walks around his neighbourhood.

“I remembered that I had two tickets in my wallet that I hadn’t checked yet,” he recalled. “I went into the gas station…the retailer checked the ticket and told me that I had won a lot of money.

Fong says he immediately told his daughter, who was elated.

“When I knew how much I had won, I couldn’t sleep and I wanted to cry.”

Aside from getting his dancing shoes on, he plans to get his feet wet by taking a cruise in Europe. He says he’ll also put his prize towards retirement saving and purchasing a new home.
