Wayne Boyd was in complete disbelief upon scratching his Bingo Grand Scratch & Win ticket and realizing he won the game’s top prize of $100,000. In fact, Boyd had to check his ticket many times before believing what he was seeing.

“I checked the ticket about seven times and then realized I had an ‘X,’” Boyd recalled. “I couldn't believe it. I was in shock that I won!”

The Nelson resident had just woken from a nap when he remembered he had some spare change in his pocket, leading him to venture out on a walk and purchase the ticket at Wings Grocery on Baker Street. It was there that he also had his ticket checked by a retail clerk.

Boyd immediately called his daughter, who was in disbelief that he won.

Boyd plans to use some of his prize to help his daughter with her mortgage and save the rest, but not before he treats himself to a new pair of Blundstone boots.
