Michael and Jennifer Strange enjoy watching their kids score in soccer but were shocked to find out they scored a winning goal of their own playing Lotto Max: a $1-million Maxmillions prize from the June 3, 2022 draw.

The Kamloops residents found out they won when Michael stopped at the mall in between tournament games and decided to check their ticket.

“I thought we only won $10 because I didn’t have my glasses on,” he recalled. “I checked it again and realized there were a lot more zeros than $10!”

Michael could hardly contain his excitement but decided to wait until the tournament was done to share the news with his family. The couple’s parents were over the moon for them.

“Our parents are exhilarated and so excited for us,” Jennifer exclaimed.

The millionaires plan to put their prize towards a new car and some home renovations. They purchased the ticket from Shoppers Drug Mart on Summit Drive.

“It’s life-changing… we’re speechless. It will upgrade our life and will add financial security in a topsy-turvy world,” Michael added.
