Hien Vo was ecstatic to win $500,000 from the October 21, 2022 Lotto Max draw after sharing the Maxmillions prize with another winner in Ontario.
“I was most excited to tell my girlfriend,” Vo recalled.
Apart from planning a small celebration, Vo plans to use his winnings to pay off his mortgage.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Real Canadian Superstore on 104 Avenue in Surrey.
The Surrey resident was at home when he learned he won and validated his ticket on the BCLC Lotto! App.
So far in 2022, B.C. lottery players have redeemed more than $157 million from Lotto Max. Lotto Max is a nationwide lottery game drawn on Tuesdays and Fridays after 7:30 p.m. (PST).
