BCLC’s Midsummer Music Jam rocks Kamloops July 30

BCLC and the City of Kamloops will rock out July 30 at the Midsummer Music Jam with the largest concert of the season for Music in the Park.

This year’s event will feature a special double-headline of entertainment with country stars, Robyn & Ryleigh and high-energy funk band, Champagne Republic. The Midsummer Music Jam will have free ice cream and entertainment for the entire family and fun prizes.

Audience members are encouraged to bring donations to benefit the Kamloops Food Bank, who will be onsite collecting donations.

Vancouver-based feature act, Champagne Republic, formed in 2012 and has worked their way into Canadian hearts. Champagne Republic’s sound is a high-energy combination of soul funk, and rhythm and blues.

Sisters Robyn and Ryleigh Gillespie are a talented country duo hailing from Langley, B.C. Their sound is a reflection of their country upbringing, their favourite musical influences, and traditional country acoustic elements blended with the energy of modern rock.

The evening concert starts 7 p.m. on July 30 at the Rotary Bandshell in Riverside Park.

The original Music in the Park concert series was launched in 1993 to celebrate the Canada Summer Games and is the longest-running free music festival in B.C. The outdoor concert series runs for two months every summer and has entertained more than half a million people in the 21-year history.
