British Columbians Divided on Which Film Will Win Big at 90th Academy Awards


B.C. bettors can wager on the glitz and glamour of the 90th Academy Awards on With more than 25 bets and an Oscars Pool, bettors can wager on various categories from Best Picture to Best Makeup and Hairstyling.

Currently on, The Shape of Water and Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing Missouri are tied to win the most awards, while Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing Missouri is favoured to win Best Picture. A $10 bet for Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing Missouri will return $18.50 if it wins Best Picture.

In other categories, Gary Oldman has the best odds to win Best Actor, while Frances McDormand is favoured to win in the Best Actress category. A $10 bet on acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro to win Best Director for The Shape of Water will return $10.80, should he win. The film is currently favoured to win in five categories on

When it comes to Canadian nominees, a $10 bet on Christopher Plummer to win Best Supporting Actor, for his role in All The Money In The World, will return $260. The Breadwinner, based on the novel by Canadian author Deborah Ellis, is nominated for Best Animated Feature. A $10 bet on this film will return $130, if it wins.
