Christmas could come early with $68 million in Lotto Max prizes

Christmas could come early for lottery players in B.C. with an estimated $68 million in prizes available on the December 23, 2016 Lotto Max draw. That includes an estimated $60 million jackpot plus 8 MAXMILLION prizes of $1 million each.

It’s anticipated that 40 percent of all lottery sales will take place on Friday afternoon with the biggest peaks during the lunch hour, when lottery retailers in B.C. are expected to process up to 4500 transactions per minute. On Friday afternoon, we expect the sales to be at their peak with last minute shoppers purchasing their final presents.

  • Lotto Max launched on September 19, 2009.
  • There have been three $50 million Lotto Max jackpots won in B.C.
  • Odds of winning a jackpot or $1 million MAXMILLION prize: 1:28,633,528.
  • MAXMILLION winners in B.C. to date: 103

BCLC recently hit the streets to ask people what they would do if they won $50 million over the holiday season, with a unique elf-life twist. Check it out here. Happy Holidays from BCLC!
