Three winning tickets for Lotto 6/49 record-breaking jackpot sold in B.C.

14/04/2013

Three of four winning lottery tickets sold in Canada for the record-breaking Lotto 6/49 jackpot were in B.C. Two winning tickets were sold in Surrey, one in Vancouver and the fourth in Alberta.

Each winning ticket holder will receive $15,853,471.30. The record-breaking jackpot was the largest in Canadian history as sales grew the final jackpot to $63,413,885.20.

The previous record had been a $54.3 million Lotto 6/49 jackpot won by a group of oil workers in Alberta in 2005.

Lotto 6/49 players who purchased tickets in Surrey or Vancouver are encouraged to check their numbers. If you've won a prize, lottery winners have 52 weeks from the draw date printed on the ticket to come forward to claim their prize. The exact retail location where the winning lottery ticket was purchased will be announced after the winner has come forward to claim their prize.

This Lotto 6/49 jackpot had been building since Wednesday, March 13 and had not been won for nine consecutive draws.
