Joon Myung K. holding a big cheque

Abbotsford $1 million dollar winner looks forward to a prosperous New Year

It was Christmas Eve when Joon Myung Kim from Abbotsford, BC was checking his lottery tickets and discovered he’d saved the best one for last. Kim’s last ticket revealed that he had just won an astounding $1 million Maxmillions prize on the December 8, 2017 Lotto Max draw.

As a self-described family-oriented man, Kim says the million dollar win will allow him to help his three daughters pay off their mortgages. In addition, with New Year just around the corner, he is looking forward to following his New Year’s cultural tradition where elders give money to the others of their family.

It will indeed be a bright New Year for Kim, who expressed gratitude for his good fortune this holiday season. “At this moment, it is such a blessing.”

The winning ticket was purchased at the Real Canadian Superstore in Coquitlam, B.C.
