New Apartment for Richmond Lotto Max Winner

Yuk Ying Pau found herself trying to stay calm and not shout with delight after learning she’d won $500,000 on the Lotto Max Extra from the April 7, 2017 draw.

Pau, a retail manager in a Vancouver department store, was on a break when she decided to check her ticket at a convenience store, and discovered she had won the Extra. “I was trying not to scream or smile because I didn’t want my coworkers to know. I had to keep it to myself as I was still on the floor working - it was so hard not to smile!”

Pau intends to use her prize to purchase her very own home. “It was like a dream come true because I was planning to buy an apartment. This is perfect timing!” exclaims Pau.

As for immediate plans, Pau says she might indulge in a bit of shopping. “I was looking at a pair of Valentino flats that are $1000! I have to be responsible, though, and buy my house first and then my shoes and purses etc. I am pretty conservative with my money, but a little more shopping will be fun!”

The winning ticket was purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart at Garden City Centre in Richmond.
