Koon Yung Chan holding big cheque

Quick-Pick Pays Off for Richmond Grandma

According to Ms. Koon Yung Chan of Richmond, the Quick-Pick is the way to go! Chan matched all seven numbers and won a $500,000 Maxmillion prize from the Lotto Max draw on June 1, 2018. The prize was split with another winner in Ontario.

“When I scanned my ticket, I thought I had won a free play,” said Chan. “I couldn’t believe my ears when the retailer told me I had won a big prize!”

When Chan shared the news with her children, they also thought she may have been mistaken, and perhaps added extra zeros. However, seeing is believing and they finally believed her when she showed them her winning ticket.

Chan plans to celebrate her win with a big family dinner, and sharing some of her windfall with her children and grandchildren.

The winning ticket was sold at the lottery kiosk located inside Richmond Centre.
