‘Set for Life’ Dad Drives Off Laughing07/05/2018
Daniel Van Alstine’s life has always been full but after winning $675,000 playing his favourite Scratch & Win game, he can now say he’s ‘Set for Life’.
“I like to pick up the occasional Set for Life ticket when I’m buying gas. I dream about all the things I could do if I won,” said Van Alstine. “When I realized I had won, my mind when blank and I instantly froze. Next, I ran to my truck and drove off laughing and screaming.”
After burning off some excitement, Van Alstine called his parents with the news and shared more hoots of laughter and screaming.
“Everyone has been so happy for me,” he said. “My plan is to save the money for the future but have some fun buying new shoes, toys and sporting equipment for my three boys.”
The winning Set for Life ticket was purchased at the Chevron gas station located on Oak Street and West 67th Avenue in Vancouver.
