Shane Boyes was working in his garage, when he discovered that he matched 4/4 Extra numbers from the December 31, 2024 Lotto Max draw, scoring a $500,000 prize.
“I was in my garage at my work bench,” recalled Boyes. “I was eating pretzels and decided to check my ticket on my Lotto! App on my phone. I just couldn’t believe it. I had to check about 100 times!”
The Maple Ridge resident immediately called his wife to share the news.
“At first, I told her that there was an emergency and that she needed to come home. Once she came home, I told her and she was just in shock.”
Boyes said he is “still digesting the win” and that this win will provide him with more opportunities.

Boyes purchased the winning ticket at FreshCo on 202 Street and Dewdney Trunk Road in Maple Ridge.
