Love Local BC

Generating win-wins for the greater good and giving back to our communities is at the heart of what we do. Food insecurity affects those around us which is why BCLC launched Love Local BC, building on the success of its award-winning campaign, Spread the Local Love. More than 80,000 individuals are assisted by food banks every month in B.C.

With every purchase of a gift card to a local business or successful silent auction bid on the campaign page, participants helped drive support and awareness for local businesses while raising funds for Food Banks across B.C.

The Love Local BC Campaign raised more than $20,000 for participating food banks and supported more than 100 local businesses from across the province. Together, we collected more than 2,000 lbs. of food for our local Food Banks.

Abby Sauchuk, Director of Development at Loaves and Fishes said, “Corporate sponsorship such as the BCLC Love Local campaign has been huge for us. Because having reliable partners like that really helps us be able to use our operations to provide as much food as we can for people in need.” Loaves and Fishes partnering with BCLC, the City of Nanaimo, Casino Nanaimo and 49th Parallel Grocery shows that coming together as a community can make a world of difference.

Since 1985, BCLC has proudly sponsored events in local communities throughout the province. Every lottery ticket purchased and played in a casino or online at PlayNow.com generates gambling revenue that goes back to the Province of B.C. We are better together and, thanks to our players, more than $25 billion in net income has been delivered to the province to support communities, provincial programs and services.

BCLC is proud to support our communities, non-profit organizations and local businesses where we live, work and play. When our communities are supported, we all win.
