The City of Castlegar uses a portion of its share provincial gaming revenue to fund its general capital program. In 2017, one use of the funding was to support the airport property water and sewer servicing. The 39-acre property adjacent to the airport was serviced with water, sewer and fibre optics, which not only benefits the existing airport terminal and local businesses, but has significant economic development benefits in the years to come as the lands are developed.
