In 2018, the city used a portion of its provincial gaming revenue for hosting Chances Signal Point to help fund several local charities and not-for-profit organizations, including the Cariboo Chilcotin Child Development Centre Association. It provides assessments, education and assistance to children in the areas of physical, socio-emotional, communication and cognitive development. The funding was used to repair and paint their building, and to encourage children to be proud of where they play and learn.
