In 2018, the City of Kamloops used its share of provincial gaming revenue for hosting Chances Kamloops and Cascades Casino to fund several community infrastructure upgrades. Among the initiatives was the Lansdowne Parkade and Street Improvement Project, which was allocated over $850,000, and included the installation of a unique, large-scale mosaic, designed by local artist Bill Frymire. Entitled Community Confluence, the piece contains over 80,000 tiles and was unveiled with an official event in the summer of 2019. Other projects also included upgrades like traffic-calming curb extensions, sidewalk improvements, landscaping, and enhancements to the parkade.
